
The Office of the State Auditor this week reported that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts collected –on net– state tax revenues of $30.2 billion for the fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2019. Last December, the Beacon Hill Institute provided the Joint Revenue Committee with an estimate of $29.6 billion. BHI’s estimate was the closest of three provided by other groups. The Department of Revenue predicted a range between $28.65 billion and $28.74 billion while the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation predicted $28.7 billion for FY19.
