Center
for Policy Research of New Jersey 25 March, 2005
Dear David, You know that the Center for Policy Research of New Jersey (CPR) is a young state-based "think tank" and that since our inception, fiscal policy - - particularly tax policy - - has been our main concern. CPR's relationship with the Beacon Hill Institute (BHI) helped to establish our credibility and enhance our visibility on fiscal issues. In two years, CPR has become a leading voice on New Jersey's tax and spending policies. Last year, thanks to a grant BHI received to create several STAMPs, CPR was fortunate to gain access to your New Jersey model. This development was a boon for CPR. Thanks to BHI's generosity and your commitment to helping other free market-oriented think tanks, CPR now has at its disposal an important policy analysis tool. I would be remiss if I did not also acknowledge BHI's assistance in our initial utilization of the New Jersey STAMP. On short notice, you helped us to assess the economic impact of the many tax and fee increases proposed for the FY05 State budget. BHI not only provided us with indispensable technical support, you also had your staff present when we presented the model's findings to the New Jersey State House press corps. We look forward to continuing to work with BHI as we use STAMP for future projects. Thank you again for you assistance and advice. Sincerely
yours, Gregg M.
